UVM CREAM

UVM CREAM Cooperative for Real Education in Agricultural Management. A student run dairy herd. UVM students manage farm operation and perform all of the barn chores.

CREAM, Cooperative for Real Education in Agricultural Management, is a student-run dairy herd. There are currently 34 milking Holstein cows plus replacement animals in the herd. It is one of the highest producing and genetically superior herds in Vermont. This spring and fall semester program offers 8 credits (4 per semester) to 13-16 students each year. Successful applicants are selected from all

majors across the University and are not required to have a dairy or livestock background. The key requirements are a commitment to working hard and the thirst for knowledge. A CREAM student will leave this program with the skills necessary to excel in his/her chosen field whether that be business management, community development and applied economics, animal science, or biology.

Meet Ant!! Ant is a rising senior from Westchester, NY. He is an animal science major on the pre-vet track. He hopes to go to vet school and study large animals! His favorite part of SCREAM is the people and seeing Aspen 3995 almost everyday❤️🐮. His favorite cows are Gwen 3992 and Aspen 3995. His favorite dairy product is cheese 🧀 . A fun fact about him is that he loves rock climbing 🧗 and playing DND 🧙‍♂️ . YAY ANT!!!

Meet Taylor! Taylor is from St. Albans, VT, and is a rising Junior! She is an Animal science major with minors in chemistry 🧪 and equine studies 🐴. She is on a pre-veterinary track hoping to become a large animal vet. Her favorite thing about SCREAM is the relationships she has been able to build from it, and working with so many beautiful wonderful people! (Thank you Taylor!). Her favorite cows are Supernova (4000) AKA souper pooper or soup, Addison (4010) and baby River (4060). Her favorite dairy products are ice cream 🍨 and cheese 🧀 . She is planning on becoming a speech pathologist and incorporating animal-assisted therapy into her work! Her favorite part about SCREAM is getting to work and learn alongside amazing people!
