Vermont Mathematics Initiative

Vermont Mathematics Initiative In turn, these teacher leaders serve as mathematics resources to other teachers in their school and/or district in the teaching and learning of mathematics.

A partnership of mathematics educators and mathematicians supporting Vermont and New Hampshire schools and districts, math teacher leaders, and math teachers since 1999. At the heart of the VMI is the concept of building a cadre of mathematics teacher leaders across the state who are deeply knowledgeable in mathematics content and can apply their knowledge to improve mathematics instruction.

Oral exams for Cohort '23 start today! We are proud of the hard work and dedication this group has put in over the past three years. We can't wait to hear all about your learning and celebrate your growth!

For those looking to join the VMI master's program:
The priority deadline to join Cohort '26 is approaching quickly on March 30th. We will continue to accept applications after this date as space allows.

We will also be offering several courses for professional development graduate credits throughout the summer. Check out the VMI website for more information!

In case you've stopped checking school email and are officially on break (as you should be!), here’s a quick note: in addition to MSL Online, we’ll be offering in-person standalone courses in Number Theory and Essential Mathematics of the Elementary Grades starting this January.

Applications are still being accepted for the Post-Master’s Certificate Program, too. There’s still time to join!
