SelectPrep

SelectPrep We aim at rational SAT and ACT test prep, and logical College counseling. We use only official SAT TESTS for our student's test prep.

If you want to learn how to swim, shouldn't you learn in real water? SelectPrep is located in Caldwell, New Jersey and provides SAT and ACT Test Preparation services, college admissions consulting, and free SAT practice tests and sample SAT questions. Prepare with Official SAT Test Prep Questions. Private 1-on-1 Test Prep in person or Internationally on the WEB with SAT live tutoring conferences.

We also offer mobile SAT Test Prep on the iPAD and all Android Tablets, including the Kindle Fire. We are strong advocates of e-LEARNING and m-LEARNING. We do not believe that The SAT test is "Tips and Tricks". The SAT test is a test of logic. That's what we teach our students. Something that they don't learn in school. The most important thing the SAT tests is a student’s grasp of logic. The test operates on principles of reasoning. SAT test designers test the same things on every test-without recycling questions-because they always follow strict rules and patterns in writing new questions. We have reverse engineered these SAT rules. We can prove that Omitting questions, rather than Guessing, will gain you points on The SAT. You can get more wrong answers in one test than in another and still get a higher score. Do you know that the test is “scaled”? We do not believe that The SAT is a vocabulary test. Memorizing tons of vocab is a waste of your time. Knowing how the SAT uses vocabulary is what you need to know. Our tutors have all scored 800 on their SATs. Over 60 of our students have also scored 800s. But we're equally proud of our students who have gone from the 400s to the 600s. Thank you for visiting our page. I have always thought that Test Optional college admissions is not beneficial to the well qualified student.

The covid-induced shift to test-optional (TO) admissions led to unprecedented spikes in college applications and, consequently, admission selectivity and student confusion. Student confusion abounded: Should I take the ACT/SAT? Should I report my scores? Who benefits from TO policies? Do I receive a...

By not requiring that students draw upon background knowledge, tests create no incentive for particular knowledge to be taught.

(I would add Rhetoric and Argument to the list.)The push for STEM innovation and global competitiveness led to an almost desertion of writing education in schools, leading to graduates who can barely put together a report. However, there is an increasing push around the importance of liberal arts subjects to success in tech fields, as major companies begin seeking more liberal arts graduates to fill their coffers.
In reality, students need all of the above. Computational and analytical thinking is intrinsically tied into literacy, and if students are to be successful in the workplace, a cross-curricular, cross-discipline approach to learning is one way to ensure students possess all of the skills they need for jobs that don't even exist yet. You may think that once you’ve completed the FAFSA you’re all set as far as applying for college financial aid goes, but you would be wrong. The FAFSA only covers aspects of federal student aid, not the aid that might come from colleges and universities themselves. Although most are satisfied to use the FAFSA to award institutional aid, many (about 400, including some scholarship organizations and private high schools) would like to delve more deeply into your finances to determine how much aid they’re willing to give you from their own pockets. If you aren’t aware of this extra step when applying for financial aid, you may not get all that you’re eligible for and you might be in for a nasty surprise the night before it’s due.

Completing the FAFSA may only be the beginning of the quest for college financial aid. Be sure to see whether the CSS PROFILE is required as well.
