Last Monday, the MIT LGO community came together for our annual Midstream Review, where second-year students shared their internship research, progress, and early findings with the broader LGO community.

While the presentations highlight the work students are doing during their internships, the heart of Midstream Review is the opportunity to share what they’ve learned with the next cohort of LGO students. Second-year students pass along their experiences, insights, and lessons learned, giving first-year students a window into what lies ahead.

It is a meaningful event that brings students, MIT faculty, and industry partners together to share perspectives and practical solutions to real-world operational challenges across industries, while giving interns an opportunity to draw on the discussion and feedback to further the impact of their work.

The MIT LGO URM Alumni Group, represented by Don Okoye ’24, joined alumni leads from SAGA (Sloan Affinity Group Alumni) to lead the annual Welcome to the Sloan Family kickoff event.

LGO students and alumni representing 25 class years came together for an engaging panel discussion on leadership, networking, and career development during times of scarce resources.

The conversation continued over a happy hour, allowing students and alumni to connect, build community, and strengthen the Sloan network. 🎉

Grayson Adams '27 and Sparsh Bansal '27 attended LGO partner GE Vernova's open house for MIT students at the company's historic Schenectady, NY campus, known since GE's founding by Thomas Edison in 1892 as the Electric City.

Grayson and Sparsh, along with 40 other MIT Engineering students from undergrad through doctoral levels, toured manufacturing facilities producing 6 MW onshore wind nacelles and learned about the company's history and culture.

LGO's partnership with GE Vernova is part of the broader MIT-GE Vernova Energy and Climate Alliance.

What does it take to build the road to space? Our LGO students got a closer look during our Partner Introduction with Blue Origin!

Students heard from the Blue Origin team about the company’s mission, innovative work in aerospace, and the engineering and operational challenges that come with pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

From breakthrough science to large-scale manufacturing, bringing new medicines to patients requires innovation at every step. Our LGO students recently connected with Amgen to learn more about the company’s approach to biotechnology, manufacturing, and operations, and how leaders across these fields work together to tackle complex challenges in healthcare.

Our LGO students recently connected with Waymo to learn how autonomous driving technology is moving from the lab to the road, and the engineering, operations, and leadership challenges that come with building an entirely new approach to mobility.
