Integration & Application Network The Integration and Application Network is a team of science integrators and science communicators

IAN is an initiative of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. IAN's mission is to inspire, manage and produce timely syntheses and assessments on key environmental issues, with a special emphasis on Chesapeake Bay and its watershed. IAN is a network which includes different agencies and institutions in different locations.

Loni presented about her research on microplastic transport in aquatic systems, and Anikka presented about the willingness of Chesapeake Bay farmers to adopt green nitrogen technology. Juneteenth is the annual celebration of freedom, commemorating the official end of slavery when Union soldiers reached Texas to announce that the Civil War was over and slavery was abolished, more than 2 years after slavery was outlawed. It serves as a reminder that the work to end inequality and injustice is not over when policies are created, and that we must continue to work until our people's lived experience reflects the intention of good policy.
