Another exciting day of learning for our Rowan University CHAMP/GEAR UP students!
One group visited the Alice Paul Center for Gender Justice, where they explored Alice Paul’s legacy in the fight for equality and created their own constitutional amendments inspired by causes they are passionate about. After they visited the Dr. James Still Museum, where they learned about the life and legacy of Dr. James Still, the “Black Doctor of the Pines.” Students discovered how medical herbs were used to treat illnesses in the past and gained a deeper appreciation for the history of natural medicine and healthcare.
Another group explored the Newark Museum of Art, where they experienced diverse exhibits that celebrated art, culture, science, and creativity, inspiring them to view the world through new perspectives.
