The College held a ceremony on Friday to celebrate the second class of licensed practical nursing graduates since the program was launched. Eleven students completed the one-year certificate program and have the option to transfer into the registered nursing program. A groundbreaking ceremony took place today, Aug. 10, for the culinary arts center planned for Lakeshore Drive in Canandaigua.

The center will serve as home to FLCC's culinary arts program and New York Kitchen, as well as provide auxiliary space for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County.

"This collaborative venture marks an exciting milestone for FLCC's culinary program, and we are grateful to the Canandaigua Area Development Corporation (CADC), Ontario County, and New York State for their support," said FLCC President Robert Nye.

Upon completion, the facility will allow FLCC, New York Kitchen and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County to expand their collaborative efforts benefiting students, visitors, businesses and the community.

Representatives from the City of Canandaigua, Ontario County, the State University of New York Board of Trustees, the Sands Family, LeChase Construction, the CADC, New York Kitchen, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County, and FLCC attended the ceremony.
