Amarillo Area Foundation and student and faculty artists in WT's Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities worked together on a new art installation at the foundation's office that celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Sybil and Don Harrington.

The works have been on view for a few months, and an immersive look inside the project will be shown Oct. 13 in Buffalo Vision: The Frontier of Learning in the Geneva Schaeffer Education Building on what would have been Dr. Harrington's 118th birthday.

Today, the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture announced that WT has received a $9.75 million grant to fund the most advanced cattle feedlot research facility in the world. The grant, the largest federal award in WT history, will be matched by The Texas A&M University System and other sources, bringing the project total to $19.5 million.

Ag Row—the stretch of agricultural research, education and diagnostic facilities in the northeast corner of WT's campus—will be available for public tours from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 10 during a special celebration for the newly formed Panhandle Agriculture Consortium.

Attendees can visit, tour and see the impactful work being done at each building along the way: the WT Agricultural Sciences Complex; the Veterinary Education, Research and Outreach, or VERO, building; the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory; and the newest addition, the Texas A&M AgriLife High Plains Research and Extension Center. The USDA research lab in Bushland also will set up a booth during the event.
