International Festival Week 2026 returns to Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a vibrant showcase of global cultures, traditions, and performances.

Parade of Flags at 10:00 AM from the Center for International Education, followed by the Proclamation Ceremony in the International Lounge at the Student Center.

🍽 Wednesday, February 11
International Food Festival from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Student Center Ballroom.

🎶 Thursday, February 12
Global Soundscape, a new addition to International Festival Week, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Big Muddy Room.

🎭 Friday, February 13
International Cultural Night from 6:30 PM onward.

Up to four Fulbright alumni will be selected as IIE Centennial Fellows to receive awards of up to $25,000 for ongoing or planned projects that advance responsible AI. Projects must be action-oriented, solutions-focused and designed to produce measurable outcomes.

In addition, one Fulbright alumnus or alumna will be selected for the IIE New Leader Award, which recognizes alumni who completed their Fulbright program in the past five years (2021–25). The proposed project must already be underway and aligned with the 2026 Responsible AI theme.

The IIE Centennial Fellowship — established in honor of IIE’s Centennial and our longtime association with The Fulbright Program — supports Fulbright alumni whose work embodies the program’s values of mutual understanding, leadership, problem-solving, and global impact.
