Exciting news from SIU’s School of Computing!
Southern Illinois University Carbondale is launching a new Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence+ program in Fall 2026. This program is designed to help students build a strong foundation in AI, programming, machine learning, large language models, data-driven decision making, and the ethical use of emerging technology.
What makes this program especially exciting is the “plus” — students will pair AI with another area of study, helping them apply these tools to real-world problems in fields like computer science, business, science, engineering, the arts, and more.
AI is already changing how we work, learn, and solve problems. I’m proud to see SIU preparing students to use it responsibly, creatively, and effectively.
