Thank you to everyone who came to Ag Legislative Night 🌾

We had a great night hearing from six speakers including Terri Bryant and Paul Jacobs, along with industry leaders across Illinois agriculture. Conversations covered the farm bill, estate tax, succession planning, solar farms, data centers, and why it matters for students to stay involved in the future of ag.
Big takeaway… our voices as collegiate members actually matter more than we think.

Four SIU collegiate members joined the Illinois Farm Bureau Young Leaders in Portland this past week for the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Young Farmers & Ranchers Leadership Conference.

It was an exciting time meeting young farmers from all across the country, attending breakout sessions, and celebrating our Harvest For All accomplishments.

We are proud of Gracie Murphy as she competed in the Collegiate Discussion Meet against students from across the country, representing IFB and SIU.

The conference ended with tours of local Oregon farms, businesses, and landmarks.

A huge thank you to Illinois Farm Bureau for giving our students the chance to attend, grow their leadership skills, and further support agriculture!
