Sara Hopper is one of the first students pursuing UNG’s new fully online Bachelor of Science in Education in Special Education through eMajor. Sara is preparing to teach high school special education while gaining valuable experience as a full-time paraprofessional. The new BSED-SPED eMajor program certifies graduates to teach special education in any grade from kindergarten through 12th grade in collaboration with other University System of Georgia schools across the state.

Also pictured is Dr. Jennifer Sears, associate professor leading the effort at UNG. Sears explains that this degree will help meet Georgia's workforce needs by helping alleviate the state's current shortage of special education teachers.
