On 5 APR 2025, our Midshipmen were given the esteemed opportunity to experience the commissioning of USS Iowa (SSN 797) at Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, CT. MIDN also had the opportunity to experience submarine simulators and trainers, and explored the nearby city of Mystic, CT.

The ceremony marks the commissioning of the Navy's newest Virginia-class nuclear powered submarine. The commissioning of USS Iowa was an inspiring and humbling experience that deepened our MIDN's appreciation for the dedication, sacrifice, and technological excellence that define the Silent Service.

We had a fantastic weekend out in the field this year for our annual Field Training Exercise! Thank you to all the Navy Midshipmen who make it possible for our Marine options to get the practical experience they need to succeed at OCS! Regardless of the conditions, these Midshipmen tackled SULEs, LRCs, and land navigation like real champs. So excited for next year's event!

We had a great time helping! Old Town VFW is always supporting our unit and we're glad to be able to support back.
