The final official gathering of the 25-26 MMA Womenโs Basketball Team! We laughed, we cried, and some of us cried laughingโฆright, Coach Blanchard?โจ
We also got to give out our three program awards last night!! We donโt do MVPs or MIPs or aything like thatโฆwe reward kids based on the values that make this program special, like sacrifice, leadership, and dedication.
๐ The LINDSAY SMITH TEAM AWARD was awarded to GRACE HUNTWORK this year!! Grace is the epitome of sacrifice, a phenomonal teammate, and represents this program with excellence on and off the floor. This award is so well deserved! She will have her name engarved on a plaque in our locker room!
๐ The ANSWER THE BELL Award goes to HAILEY BLANCHARD and ADDISON FORRY! This award is meant to honor the kid that shows up every day to practice and gives 100% of what they have, no matter what is going onโฆand this year we were lucky enough to have two of them! Weโre pretty sure Hailey would rather lose a limb than let someone outwork her, and Addie played an entire season on one working footโฆthese two lay it on the line for this team every day. Theyโll have their names engraved on the gameday bell in our locker room!
๐ค The LEADER OF THE YEAR goes to Evelyn Dagan! She was awarded the Leadership Locker back in May and has upheld those standards day in and day out. She is a great friend and teammate, and is a great representation of what it means to be part of Mariners Womenโs Basketball! Stay tuned to see who she left the Locker tooโฆ๐
