James 4:17
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

As Christians, we are held to a higher standard because we are called to live according to God's Word. Scripture tells us to hide His Word in our hearts so that we might not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11).

But what is sin?

Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

At its core, sin is rebellion against God. It is choosing our own way instead of His. Sin separates us from God—the Creator and Sustainer of life.

I do not want to be separated from the God who loves me, the God who saved me, and the God with whom I will spend eternity. I am sure you do not want that either.

We all struggle with sin and fall short at times. Thankfully, we have an Advocate, Jesus Christ, and when we sincerely repent, God is faithful to forgive us. However, this is not about occasional failures; it is about practicing sin, living in sin, and deliberately choosing disobedience.

If there is an area of your life where you know what is right but continue to do otherwise, today is the day to turn away from it. God is waiting with open arms, ready to forgive, restore, and strengthen you. Walk away from sin and walk toward the One who loves you more than you can imagine.

Psalm 147:5 Great is our LORD, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
When I think about how wonderful our God is, it is just overwhelming. To think that the God that made the Universe cares about the smallest details of our lives.
His understanding is infinite...people say all the time,"no one understands me". That is not true...you have a God that understands it all. He knows what you are going through and He understands. Let go and let God be God.

Isaiah 61: 10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
We do not rejoice in the Lord or become joyful because of our circumstances but because of what He has done for us, to us and through us. So this morning no matter how you feel or what you are going through...get up and rejoice because He has saved you and given you His righteousness! We are His bride!

Joel 2:13 Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
Sometimes it takes the heart breaking for us to come running to the Lord. Sometimes we have to reach a low that allows us to only look up to see our God's face.
The Lord has so much love for us that He always welcomes us back with open arms. I love this description of Him: gracious, compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. That's my Father, my best Friend, my Companion, my Lord and my Savior. I love Him today with all my heart. My goal is to serve Him until my last breath.
O What A Savior, Isn't He Wonderful....

Hebrews 10:16-17 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the LORD, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
It is funny how people remember all the mistakes that you have made. But with God, He remembers them no more. And guess what, that is all that matters! He holds nothing against you because you have a blood covenant with Him. When you allow other voices to determine your worth then you will become defeated. Only allow His forgiving voice to whisper His love to you. You are so worthy to Him that He shed His precious blood for you.
Rejoice today in that forgiveness. When the devil throws up your past just say, "I don't remember that because I am in covenant with my Savior".

Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Life often presents situations that we cannot fully understand. We naturally want answers, explanations, and certainty before we move forward. Yet Solomon reminds us that faith is not built on our understanding but on our trust in God.

To trust in the Lord with all your heart means placing complete confidence in His wisdom, character, and promises. God sees the beginning and the end, while we see only a small part of the journey. When we rely solely on our own understanding, we can become discouraged, fearful, or confused. But when we trust God, we acknowledge that His perspective is greater than ours.

The verse also calls us to submit to Him in all our ways. This means seeking His guidance in every area of life—our decisions, relationships, ministry, work, and future plans. Trust is not merely believing God exists; it is actively yielding our lives to His direction.

The promise is beautiful: "He will make your paths straight." God may not always reveal the entire road ahead, but He faithfully guides those who trust Him. He removes obstacles, directs our steps, and leads us according to His perfect will.

When you face uncertainty today, resist the temptation to depend solely on what you can see or understand. Place your confidence in the Lord. His wisdom never fails, His love never changes, and His guidance is always sure.

Job 1:20-22 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and asked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charge God foolishly.

Job had just lost everything but he still worshipped God and did not blame God for his loss. When God takes something away whether it is a person, a job, or material possessions....give Him thanks.
He has a plan and His plan is for your good. Does it hurt???? A thousand time yes but in the long run it is for your good. He will replace it with something or someone so much better. Just be patient and give God time to work. You will be surprised at what God will do. A new job is just around the corner, a new person to love you is waiting for you, a new home has your name on it...the list is amazing to what God will send to you. But your job right now is to worship Him, His job is to replace.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
To those who long His appearing...the older I get the more I long for His appearing. This world is a very cruel place to live (just listen to the news). With that said, there is still so much for us to do. If you are breathing then your race is not over. As wonderful so heaven sounds, we still have to keep fighting the good fight here. That crown of righteousness will be waiting but for now continue to work and live for Him. Go tell the world about Him! If you can't go then give so others can go. We all have a way to keep fighting!

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
It's not about you and it's not about me but it's all about Him. He is the only one worthy of praise and glory. We are as filthy rags compared to His marvelous works. My prayer is that I will be so filled with His Spirit that no one sees me but they only see Him through me.

John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
We have to have food and water to keep our physical body alive! Jesus said to keep our spiritual body alive that we need Him! He is our food and water! He is the One that keeps our soul from dying! He gives us eternal life! I pray today that you know Him as you personal Savior! I pray that “It is well with your soul”. If not, please contact me so I can tell you about “The Bread of Life”.
