What a bittersweet day ❤️. Today, we officially closed on the sale of The Rusty Rooster.
When we purchased the Rooster in March of 2018, our lives looked so different. We had only been living in Castroville for a few years, and we had three boys, ages 7, 9, and 11. Fast forward eight and a half years, and those little boys are now 20, 18, and 16, and we now also have a beautiful 5 year old daughter. Life has changed so much, and as hard as it is to close this chapter, we know it’s time to slow down a little, and shift our focus back to our children and all the things they have going on.
Moving on is hard, especially when something has been such a big part of your life for so long.
From day one, this community welcomed us with open arms. Even though we were still fairly new to Castroville, you embraced our little business and always supported us. We will forever be grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us over the years.
To our employees, you have been so much more than people we’ve worked alongside. You have truly become family. We have been through so much together. We experienced life and loss and even the loss of one of our own, sweet Jay Kay. She was such a special person to us and such a big part of the Rooster. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and she will always be part of the Rooster’s story. ❤️
To our customers and especially our regulars who became so much more than customers, thank you for always choosing the Rooster.
For eight and a half years, the Rusty Rooster has been woven into the story of our family. We are walking away with memories we will cherish forever.
While this chapter is coming to an end for us, we are excited to see what the future holds for the Rooster. We have no doubt the new owners will do wonderful things, and we look forward to sitting back with the rest of you and watching this little place we love continue to grow and thrive.
Thank you for supporting our business, loving our family, and being part of this journey. We could never fully put into words just how much it has all meant to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. ❤️
