Far too many desire the title of leadership while avoiding the labor that leadership requires. They seek the recognition, the authority, the applause, and the visibility, but they are unwilling to sacrifice, prepare, study, serve, and work consistently behind the scenes.

Dr. Anderson reminds us that in Freemasonry, even the building of the Temple required skilled craftsmen willing to labor with patience and precision. Leadership follows the same principle. Before one can rightly govern others, he must first demonstrate a willingness to work, to learn, and to serve faithfully without entitlement.

Today, we pause in solemn remembrance of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Memorial Day is more than a holiday—it is a sacred reminder that freedom has always come at a cost carried on the shoulders of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion.

The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland honors the fallen heroes whose lives were given in defense of liberty, justice, and the ideals that unite us as a nation. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the military families who continue to carry the weight of that sacrifice long after the battle has ended.

As Prince Hall Masons, we are reminded of our duty to uphold honor, integrity, service, and brotherly love. May we never forget those who gave everything so future generations could live freely.

Today, let us remember them not only with words, but with gratitude, reflection, and purpose.
