UNI’s Metal Casting Center is partnering with the Metallurgical Engineering Trades Apprenticeship & Learning to provide workforce training in casting and forging for K-12 students and professionals. UNI will implement METAL’s nationally recognized curriculum in its program, combining online training with immersive in-person bootcamps focused on casting and forging.

For the past two and a half years, Casey Daughenbaugh has worked at UNI's Metal Casting Center as a lab assistant. He will be graduating this semester. Additionally, this past semester, Casey has interned with HA International, acting as an on-site liaison between the company and the center. His favorite part of working at the center has been collaborating with supportive professionals and gaining a variety of hands-on metal casting experiences, which has made the work both engaging and rewarding. To current and future students, Casey recommends taking advantage of every opportunity to learn, asking questions, getting involved in different projects, and building relationships with those around you. “Those experiences will be just as valuable as the technical skills you develop.”
