Check out this clinic Carroll University in Wisconsin is hosting!

Carroll University Sport Performance and Coaching Clinic is on Saturday, April 17th. Topics covered during the clinic will include motor learning and agility training, sport science considerations, coaching athletes in extreme sports, task-specific hypertrophy, implementing weightlifting derivatives, resistance training with youth and adolescent athletes, periodizing nutrition, and speed development. The clinic will be entirely virtual and the cost for registration is $20 for students and $70 for professionals. This clinic is approved to offer 0.8 CEUs through the NSCA and 3.25 CEUs through the CSCCa. The presentations will be recorded and available to the registrants after the clinic.

This is a great opportunity for strength and sport professionals to expand on your knowledge and keep growing!!

Final day of staff intros: Cheick Bally

Cheick, or Cheick and Bake as he's known around here, is a volunteer assistant coach with the UNI Strength staff and works primarily with women's soccer. He graduated from UNI with a bachelors in Management Information Systems and Spanish and is currently completing his masters in business administration and sports performance. Cheick is from Bamako, Mali and played for the National Soccer League in Mali as a winger. He's assisting with track & field and football as well as being the head strength coach for soccer. Not only does Cheick help coach at UNI but he also coaches soccer at the Cedar Valley Soccer Club.

Fun Fact: Cheick speaks 5 languages!

Day 6 staff intros: Matthew Vannatta

Matt is a graduate assistant strength coach in his first year of his master's program. He's from Githrie Center, Iowa and enjoys lifting weights, reading by candlelight, ans long walks on the beach. Matt is our resident comedian. He ran track at Central College where his main event was the 400m hurdles. Matt is currently working as the head of Swim and Dive and assists with football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and track & field. After completing his master's, Matt will pursue a career as a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Day 5 staff intros: Samuel Camacho

Sammy is a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach in his first year of his masters program. He's from Sylmar, California and loves lifting, eating, and doing research. Sammy's a talented wrestler and currently works with tennis, football, men's and women's basketball, and volleyball. After completing his masters, Sammy wants to become a strength and conditioning coach at the high school or university level.

Kaylee is a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach is her first year of her masters program. She's from Prairie City, Iowa and played basketball, volleyball, softball, and ran track. Kaylee teaches group fitness classes and enjoys bike riding and hanging out with family and friends. She currently works with football, Basketball, volleyball, and swimming & diving. After she completes her masters, Kaylee plans to pursue a career as a college strength and conditioning coach.

Day 3 staff intros: Haley Palmer

Haley is a member of our intern strength staff and is in her senior year of undergrad. She's from Glenwood, Iowa and enjoys swimming, hiking, botany, and riding her motorcycle. Haley played softball, rugby, ran cross country and track & field, swam, currently is a 4 year member on the UNI cheerleading team, and held two school records for weightlifting. She is currently working with swim & dive, football, volleyball, and men's basketball. After graduating, she plans to get her masters and become a college, professional, or Olympic strength and conditioning coach.

Fun Fact: Haley studied abroad in Greece because of her love of the Greek weightlifting system.

David is a member of our intern strength staff in his senior year of undergrad. He's from Early, Iowa and played football, baseball, ran track and field, and wrestled. David enjoys biking, camping, playing video games, and watching and playing sports. He is currently working with football and swimming & diving and wants to become a college strength and conditioning coach.

Lucas is a member of our intern strength staff in his senior year of his undergraduate studies. He's from Des Moines, Iowa and enjoys working out, fishing, and playing video games in his free time. Lucas played baseball, basketball and golf and currently works with football, swim & dive, men's basketball, and softball. After completing his internship, Lucas wants to pursue a career as a highschool strength coach or work within a business as their wellness coordinator.
