Hi Friends/Fraters. I put this message out a couple weeks ago, but on the wrong UNI TKE page. Unfortunately, I can't set up the Oct 21st Homecoming this year. I have a work event that is causing me to travel over the weekend for the 2nd time in a year, and it's THAT weekend. Dave Pitts is willing to help pull that off, so please reach out to him to help. I'll loan out all of the equipment, but need a truck to haul it. I still hope to stop by for a couple hours that Saturday, but it will be on my way to Minneapolis. Again, please check with Dave, as he'll need some help, if you plan to go. Then I hope to see all of you early afternoon that day. As for hotels, act now..........I did have two rooms at the Hampton Inn that I gave up, but they'll probably be taken by now. If not, expect $250+ but it's right downtown. Hey Kids. Sorry about this, but I got bit up by some super small bugs we call "No see ums" at our tailgate. I have a spray that keeps them away, but didn't think they were around anymore. I've been itching like crazy since then, but it's starting to subside. I've only seen them a couple times this year, but they are very annoying.....I hope you all had fun. I know I got lots of laughs.....:).......

Hi Gang. So we have a situation. Rain chance is 60%, but that chance is going all over the map. So, unless this is an obvious total wash out, we'll be setting up in the north lot of the dome. Just look for that bright red TKE flag with the 5 grey triangles. If we're not there, we'll be at the Hilton Garden Inn. Address is 7213 Nordic Dr, Cedar Falls, IA 50613. We will have the library room off the lobby, but not until 1:30pm. If we don't have any other choice, I'll have the food in my room. I have a Junior suite lined up. So this might be a bit of an adventure, but what Homecoming hasn't been like that lately, right? If you need the latest info, call my cell at 319-361-3088.............See you all soon. Hey Gang. Doing some research on our beloved Delta Tau Chapter. I knew this at one time, but I think quite a few people don't know this tidbit at all............. We were an "unaffiliated" Fraternity called Lambda Gamma Nu that started in 1923. Then we were nationally affiliated with TKE in 1955....I barely remember that, but there you go. Came directly from the UNI Greek website. Time to talk about bringing our group back to campus. So in reality, we're only 2 years away from being an on/off presence for 100 years. Very cool....

Hey Brothers and Sisters. Here's the plan for Homecoming. Same formula as in the past on the tailgating. Start around 11AM and go until 4PM game time. I'll cover all of the food, 3 foot sub, mini sandwiches, and sides. Just buck up some donations for bringing the chapter back. Still need about $6000 before the school will even talk to us about that due to an old rent debt.. I can elaborate at the event. We'll put up a tent and be flying the big red TKE FLAG, so we're easy to find. Trying to be near the same location again up in the north lot on pavement. Just bring folding chairs and beverage of choice. I got the rest. Please try to go, since you'll get to see some people who've not been back in MANY years. Lots of surprises await you...........Friday we'll likely meet up on the hill, and probably at the OP or Suds, or both. No solid plans there. BRING IT KIDS. Any questions, call me at 319-361-3088. Hey Gang, Starting to look towards UNI Homecoming on Oct 2nd, and make some plans soon. I'm planning the same typical tailgate and hoping for good weather after getting skunked with terrible weather 2-3 years AND having everything cancel last year. So make sure to save the date, and I'll share details soon. As an FYI, I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn as usual, but there are two other hotels within a block of there (Comfort Inn and Super Eight), so all budget levels can be met.....:)........If anyone needs to reach me on this subject, call my cell at 319-361-3088.......UNI Fight........Teke's Once, Teke's Twice...........hahaha.........Jim "Bear" Farrier

HEADLINE for 2021 UNI Homecoming. The date this year is October 2nd, so we might have a good chance for good weather for a change and be able to do an ACTUAL tailgate again. After the last 3 years, we deserve it. Put it on your calendar. (Jim Farrier/Bear)........More to come.

So, I have not posted anything here in a couple years, so shame on me. However, we are having another TKE Alumni gathering at Homecoming on Oct 1st. As an FYI, John Gallagher is getting inducted into the ROTC national hall of fame that day as well. I sold my camper, but we did a sweet tailgating 10 by 10 tent with food, generator, and TV for watching games last year while we warm up for the UNI game. I even have sides to the tent, and a heater, but doubt we'll need it. Just look for the same famous TKE flag towards the back of the SIBERIA lot. We'll start around 11 ish and go until the game starts at 4PM. A couple guys are going to stick around to watch other football games on the flatscreen, so you can always join them, if you don't go to the game...Bring munchies, and we'll serve up the rest....I'm thinking Italian Sandwiches in a crock pot and misc side dishes. I'll send out an invite tonight......WHOOP, and GO PANTHERS.....

If any Teke's want to meet for a Greek Rally, there will be one at Homecoming 9:30-10:30AM on top of the Union. The UNI President will be speaking. I (Jim AKA: Bear) plan to be there for a little bit. Here's a link.
