A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) works much like a charitable savings account. You contribute funds or other eligible assets to an account at a sponsoring organization and recommend grants to qualified nonprofits, like the Glen Oaks Community College Foundation, when you're ready to give.

Glen Oaks Community College has identified elevated levels of naturally occurring arsenic in the water serving the main campus building. Recent testing indicates that levels slightly exceed the drinking water standard established by the State of Michigan.

As a precaution, students, employees, and visitors should not consume water from drinking fountains, bathroom faucets, or locker room faucets in the main campus building until further notice. Bottled water will be available on the Concourse until the situation is resolved.

Water in the college's student housing facilities is not affected.

The college is actively working to address the issue as quickly as possible and is coordinating with the appropriate regulatory agencies. Required public notices are being posted throughout campus.

We anticipate returning to normal operations by Monday, October 12, pending satisfactory test results.

The health and safety of our campus community remain our priority. We will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
