Governor Pritzker has proclaimed October 2026 Assistive Technology Month in Illinois. He encourages all residents to learn how assistive technologies support the health, independence, and happiness of our friends, neighbors, family members, and co-workers with disabilities. IATP is excited to have Speaker of the House Emanuel Welch here on Monday, October 26th, to read the proclamation at the start of our Open House and Resource Fair at 9 a.m.

Zoom has announced improvements in how it transcribes the speech of people with disabilities, thanks to data from the Speech Accessibility Project.

Tomorrow night, State Farm Center lights up for World Fragile X Day.

Though rare, Fragile X syndrome is the most common inherited cause of intellectual disability. An estimated 1 in 7,000 males and 1 in 11,000 females have FXS.

Help us spread awareness about the research into this genetic disorder.
