Office of Volunteer Programs - University of Illinois

Office of Volunteer Programs - University of Illinois https://civiclife.illinois.edu/ The OVP continually strives to increase students' awareness of the needs of the Champaign-Urbana community.

The Office of Volunteer Programs (OVP), a division of Student Affairs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, opened in the Fall of 1989 to promote community service and volunteer activity. One of its main functions has been to provide a clearinghouse where volunteer opportunities can be matched with willing volunteers. University students compose the volunteer base who offer their time

to help not-for-profit organizations with service projects. Conveniently located in Suite 285 of the Illini Union, the Office of Volunteer Programs also does the following: provides informational resources on volunteerism; advises student service organizations; connects student groups to community agencies; connects the C-U community to the University; offers consulting to strengthen community service-related programs; educates students about social issues via service education and community events.
