We are deeply saddened by the passing of Todd Salen.
Over the past seven years, Todd became an important part of our chapter. He generously gave his time, experience, encouragement, and friendship as we rebuilt Beta Theta Pi, and we will always be grateful that he chose to invest so much of himself in us.
Todd believed in our students. He loved spending time at the chapter, getting to know our members, asking thoughtful questions, sharing stories, celebrating our successes, and helping us work through the inevitable challenges. Whether he was sitting in on a board meeting, serving as our House Dad, or simply talking with a student after a meeting, you always knew he wanted the best for the people around him.
More than anything, Todd made people feel like they mattered. He led with kindness, humility, integrity, and a genuine desire to help others grow. He brought decades of experience, and he shared it generously, always taking the time to listen, encourage, and help others think through whatever challenge they were facing.
Our chapter wouldn't be what it is today without Todd's guidance, encouragement, and belief in what we were trying to build. His fingerprints are all over the chapter we have today, and that is a legacy that will continue long after all of us who knew him have moved on.
Our hearts are with Todd's family, his many friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Todd, thank you for believing in us from the very beginning. Thank you for your friendship, your wisdom, your generosity, and for caring so deeply about helping young people grow. We are better because you chose to invest in us. Your impact will be felt for years to come.
With gratitude,
The Undergraduate Members, Alumni, and Chapter Advisors
