Early this morning we received an update from Canvas informing us that they have restored access to the Canvas platform following a maintenance update in which they disabled the category of accounts they believe are responsible for the external security and data loss incident. We are awaiting further information on the nature of the data loss incident as it relates to our institution and we expect this may take some time on their part given its impact to thousands of schools, colleges and universities across the country.
We will continue to actively monitor this situation and update you further once additional information becomes available.
If you believe that yesterdayโs outage has impacted you directly, we suggest that you get in touch with your faculty member/advisor right away for help.
Please remain vigilant and alert for phishing scams by scrutinizing external communications that may ask for sensitive information, include attachments, or ask you to click on links.
