Mark your calendars for Carolina Family Weekend, October 23–25! 🗓️

Each fall, Family Weekend gives our undergraduate students and their families an opportunity to reconnect, make new memories, and experience all that Carolina and Chapel Hill have to offer.

Throughout the weekend, families can explore Carolina’s academics, athletics, arts, music, campus traditions, and more, along with events throughout downtown Chapel Hill. Whether you’re returning to a favorite spot or experiencing Carolina alongside your student for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

We can’t wait to welcome our Tar Heel families back to campus. 🩵

Our Orientation Leaders are often some of the first friendly faces that new students and families meet at Carolina. Now, we’re looking for the next group of students ready to make that same impact!

Week 1 is in the books, and we're just getting started! 🩵🐏

Over the past week, we've welcomed hundreds of new Tar Heels and their families to Chapel Hill and watched the newest members of our community begin their Carolina journey. ✨

As we head into Week 2 of New Student Orientation, we're more excited than ever to continue welcoming future Tar Heels to UNC.

From our Carolina family to yours, thank you for trusting us to be part of this special milestone. We can't wait to meet even more of you in the weeks ahead.

Thank you all for making our first week of New Student Orientation everything we could have hoped for and more! 🎉

Over the past week, we hosted three orientation sessions, welcomed nearly 1000 new students and family members, and had the opportunity to share our love for Carolina with each of you. We can't wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!

For now, our Orientation Leaders are taking a well-deserved break so we can come back refreshed and ready to welcome our next group of Tar Heels on Monday. 🤩

The countdown for Summer Orientation has begun! We are officially less than a week away from our first session and our Orientation Leaders are hard at work getting all the last minute preparations ready for our new students and families.

Part of being a Tar Heel means carrying your Carolina spirit 🎉 wherever you go. So if you come across this video, send it to a fellow Tar Heel and get ready to learn all our chants, traditions, and build amazing memories along the way.

Summer Orientation is getting closer and closer, and we cannot wait to welcome our newest Tar Heel families to Carolina! 🩵🐏

We know orientation is not only a big moment for students, but for families too. As you prepare to support your student through this exciting transition, our Orientation Leaders are here to help make your experience as welcoming and comfortable as possible.

This summer, we are proud to have bilingual OL groups available in Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, and Bangla to help support students and families throughout orientation. We are also excited to share that Spanish interpreters will be available during Sessions 4 and 12 for families looking for additional language support.

At Carolina, we are committed to creating an orientation experience where every family feels seen, supported, and connected to the UNC community from the very beginning. We can’t wait to meet you all this summer and officially welcome you to the Tar Heel family! 🩵

ORIENTATION 101: Speed Walk Edition 🐏💨

Heading from Craige Deck to the Student Union?
You’re in good hands. Join OLS Ben and Bridget as
they lead a quick, easy-to-follow speed walk.

This is one of the main paths you can take, and along
the way you’ll see signs and OLS ready to guide you if
you need help. Keep an eye out for the buses too,
they’re another great option for getting around quickly!
