🚧 Heads up, Carolina! Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 7.
➡️ UNC Transportation and Parking will be closed and parking enforcement suspended for non-reserved spaces. P2P will be on an adjusted schedule.
➡️ For transit riders: Chapel Hill Transit, GoTriangle and PART are on adjusted schedules. Normal operations resume Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Update from Chapel Hill Transit — 9/2 11:30 a.m.
Due to heavy traffic on S. Columbia St. and W. Cameron Ave., all Chapel Hill Transit routes are delayed.

We'll be adjusting the FCX detour starting on Friday. The new detour helps move UNC Health team members to the hospital area and return to the Friday Center more efficiently. The new detour only serves Manning Drive stops- skipping South Columbia and South Road stops**

Customers who use the FCX to reach central campus should take the S bus. **After 8pm, the FCX will return to South Road for departures from campus to the Friday Center.

Student move-in is happening Aug. 12-16. After unloading at residence halls, move-in vehicles can park for free at Cobb, Craige and Rams Head decks, and Manning and Raleigh Road Visitor lots.

Expect heavier traffic near residence halls and these lots all week. Allow extra time and follow posted signage and staff direction.

Fall 2026 student move-in will take place from Wednesday, Aug. 12, through Sunday, Aug. 16. Transportation and Parking encourages students and everyone on campus during this upcoming period to plan ahead for parking and traffic.

Riders on GoTriangle Routes 800, 805 and CRX: due to a lane closure at Columbia St and South Rd, buses heading toward Southpoint, the Regional Transit Center and Raleigh will not stop at South Rd at Coker Hall or South Rd at Fetzer Gym through Aug. 5.

Use the South Rd at Woollen Gym stop instead.
