Webinar: December 17 2025 at Noon
How Charitable Giving is Being Impacted by the Big Beautiful Bill
The new tax law has several significant impacts for charitable donors large and small, effective January 1, 2026, and donors may want to adjust planned giving by December 31st. Whether you intend to support the St. Elmo Foundation or other charities, this affects you!
Ian Wright, Director of Growth & Development, will be joined by another Cornell alumnus who is a certified financial planner, for a 45-minute online discussion about the following key take-aways:
Beginning in 2026, new itemized deduction limits will reduce benefits for high income donors, potentially making it advantageous to leverage 2025 tax benefits before the 2026 deduction caps take effect
A new $1,000/person “Universal Deduction" starts in 2026, valuable for non-itemizers
Contributions to a Donor Advised Fund (“DAF”), which allows you to claim the full deduction now while distributing funds to charities over time, or “bundling” charitable contributions in 2025, may allow major donors to realize meaningful federal tax savings
This webinar is open to all members, and those who are estate attorneys, CPAs or just concerned about charitable giving are encouraged to attend.
