Be sure to check out the English Department journal, The Bird and the Dog! The Bird and Dog, whose name is derived from the mascots of AMU and APUS respectively, has been part of our academic community since 2007. Originally housed in the English department, it has featured creative work from students and alumni, giving voice to the experiences of students across all fields in both APUS and AMU. After several years without a home, Alpha Chi Tau, the university’s chapter of the International Honors society Sigma Tau Delta, began a student-led resurrection of the journal. Currently, The Bird and Dog features original artwork, photography, poetry, short stories, and essays focusing on the advancement of literacy and the celebration of the commonality that literature and art brings to enrich the lives of the reader. Submissions are accepted from students and faculty for the peer-reviewed, bi-annual editions. Check it out here:
