📣 Participants Needed for a Graduate Research Study!

Did you receive a Bachelor’s degree from an Illinois college or university within the past three years?

One of our students is conducting a graduate research study on the transition from college to adulthood and would love your participation!

The study explores how financial strain and employment may affect stress and overall well being after graduation.

👉Must be 21 years or older

👉Received a Bachelor’s degree at least a year ago, and no more than three years ago, from a Illinois University or College

👉Survey takes about 15 minutes

👉It is anonymous and completed voluntary

Mrs. Noble, Dr. Robinson, and Dr. Harvey had the opportunity to train Resident Assistants on Mental Health First Aid last week. A big thank you to the Health Education Resource Center and EIU Housing and Dining for hosting the training. The training provides useful information for everyone – students, employees, community members!

Congratulations to our Megan Wise, recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Honors Faculty Award! She was nominated by two Honors students graduating with the Class of 2026, who emphasized Professor Wise's kindness, support, and mentorship. We are so grateful for your dedication to our students!

The Spring 2026 semester may be over, but we are still celebrating here in Public Health & Nutrition! Two of our faculty members have received awards recognizing their outstanding efforts in serving our students.

🌟 Dr. Nikki Hillier is the recipient of the 2026 Hanner Teaching Excellence Award. Established in the College of Health and Human Services during the 2019-2020 academic year, the Hanner Teaching Excellence Award celebrates and honors consistent excellence in teaching.

🌟Dr. Aimee Janssen-Robinson is the recipient of the 2026 Wolf Outstanding Service Award. The Wolf Outstanding Service Award was established during the 2021-2022 academic year to honor and celebrate an annual recipient committed to applied learning through service to the department, college, community, and/or profession. The award is presented annually to a faculty member who has enthusiastically contributed superior service while consistently promoting personal, community, and global health.

Congratulations to our faculty, and thank you for all that you do!
