We’re excited to be in Chicago for the Interfaith America Leadership Summit! Queens University of Charlotte Director of Jewish Life Andy Harkavy and Campus Chaplain Adrian Bird are honored to journey alongside 10 students to Chicago for the Interfaith America Leadership Summit as they learn, connect with student leaders from across the country, and bring back new ideas to strengthen interfaith engagement and belonging on our campus. This amazing group is also participating in the Hillel International Multifaith Cohort.

I am honored to serve as the Director of Hillel & Jewish Life at Queens University of Charlotte, where over the past school year we’ve seen incredible momentum. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and the Jewish community in Australia following a horrific attack at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney that claimed the lives of at least 11 people.

As we grieve for those killed in this terrorist attack and in a mass shooting at Brown University only hours earlier, Hillel remains committed to the safety and well-being of Jewish students everywhere -- and to being a place of support during moments like this.

Hanukkah reminds us that even in times of darkness and mourning, we choose light. We will continue to care for our students, support our communities, and stand together with strength and resilience.
