Huge thank you to the members of the Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue for an outstanding day of marine operations and water rescue training with our Center for Prehospital Medicine paramedic cohort.

Our students had the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, gain hands-on exposure to specialized equipment, and develop a deeper understanding of the unique challenges involved in emergency response on the water.

We appreciate the time, expertise, and commitment your team invested in helping prepare the next generation of paramedics. Partnerships like these provide invaluable real-world learning experiences that cannot be replicated in the classroom.

Abby, a graduate of the Center for Prehospital Medicine and CPCC’s Paramedic Program, was recently recognized for her role in a successful cardiac arrest response with Medic and Charlotte Fire. In a high-stress moment, Abby relied on her training, stayed focused, and delivered the kind of care that saves lives.

Watching our graduates step into these roles and perform with confidence and skill is exactly why we do what we do. Abby’s story is a powerful reminder of how preparation, teamwork, and strong clinical education come together when it matters most.
