Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement at Queens The Gambrell Center facilitates creative scholarship through interdisciplinary collaboration and offers a vibrant gathering place for educational exploration.

The Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement provides a state-of-the-art home for a wide array of visual and performing arts programs of Queens University of Charlotte. Since re-opening in 2020, the 63,000 SF state-of-the-art Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement has been dedicated to discovery, collaboration, and connection with the Charlotte Community.

Providing a shared home for the visual, performing and literary arts, as well as design and music therapy, the Gambrell Center is the creative heartbeat of Queens hosting 550+ events and 59,000 visitors last season. Our Mission: The Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement is a dynamic arts destination for our community and students to share in diverse cultural experiences. Queens demonstrates its commitment to this mission by presenting world-class performances, conversations, and exhibitions, showcasing exemplary faculty and student works, and providing an inspiration for design, creativity, and artistic expression.

On Nov 6, meet the talent behind the trolls! World-famous recycle artist Thomas Dambo brings stories, videos, and a touch of magic to The Gambrell Center, ahead of his newest troll’s arrival in Charlotte. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind talk!

After the talk, stay for a screening of “A Man Named Pearl” the inspiring story of self-taught topiary artist Pearl Fryar followed by a chat with the film’s director, Scott Galloway, and local sustainability leaders.
