Our Professional Development Weekend is back live on the Queens campus, kicking off on Friday, September 18 at 5pm and finishing Sunday, September 20 at 12 noon. This year, the PDW is organized by MFA alumni, with alumni chairing forums, panels, teaching and sharing insights. We haven’t gathered on campus for the MFA alumni organized PDW since 2018, so we hope to see you there! It’s a great opportunity to hear what everyone’s been working on and to engage with the greater Queens Community. Current students are welcome to attend. The book demonstrates both an ear for traditional techniques and a delightful formal inventiveness, particularly in a nonce sequence whose stanzas (and title) slowly attenuate poem by poem, stripping the theme—the search for love—down to bare wood and subjecting it to an agonizing reappraisal. The Queens MFA program is now on Bookshop.org! We have opened a shop full of faculty, alumni, and student publications! This is a whole new way to engage, support, and deepen your connection with the Queens MFA Community. We are still in the process of adding more publications to this shop and have plans to expand by adding more lists. So stay tuned as we grow our bookshop.
