“It was phenomenal and I really felt that it was an affirming moment that I was meant to be a Royal.”

A Queens tradition rooted in honor and service.

At the Sed Min Ceremony, our newest students affirmed their commitment to the Queens Honor Code and officially joined our academic community.

The ceremony takes its name from our university motto, Non ministrari sed ministrare, meaning “Not to be served, but to serve,” a principle that has guided generations of Royals.

For Lauren Lee '30, writing is a way to connect, reflect and make her voice heard.

“When I write poetry, it helps me get certain messages out there that I think people need to hear.”

Now, she's bringing that passion to Queens, where she plans to study creative writing with a minor in journalism and join the Leadership Scholars Program.

Oliver Pili '30 has been looking at Queens through a camera lens long before becoming a Royal.

His passion for photography started in high school and has already led to hands-on media experience at the MLS All-Star Game in Charlotte.

This summer, Queens hosted the inaugural AI Play Summer Day Camp, welcoming middle school students to campus for a week of hands-on learning and discovery.

Through interactive activities and real-world conversations about artificial intelligence, students explored emerging technology while building creativity, curiosity and critical thinking skills. The camp is a great example of how Queens and Elon are creating meaningful learning experiences for students both on campus and in our community.

Their innovative virtual approach not only kept participants engaged but also led to research that was recently published in a peer-reviewed music therapy journal.

Graduate students from the McColl School of Business spent the semester as corporate consultants for Novant Health, tackling organizational culture, leadership challenges, and 12-24 month strategy plans for a healthcare system in the middle of major growth.
