Reminder that applications will be closing next Sunday, April 19th! We recommend anyone interested to try out to be an adviser, and we have a few words we would like to share about ULink.

Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization, which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.

This is Caroline Still, a third year from Jacksonville, FL and one of ULink’s Coordinators for the College of Arts and Sciences.

“My experience with ULink has been one of the most rewarding of my college career. My advisor was central to grounding me those first crazy weeks at UVA and helping me figure out not only my interests but who I wanted to be at this University. I love being able to be that person for my advisees. Although, they honestly inspire me more than I advise them!”

This is Alice Bremer, Nursing Coordinator and third year from Centreville, Va.

"I remember receiving an email from my ULink advisor as a first year in August and being immediately relieved! I had so many questions, ranging from classes to the best dining halls, and was thrilled to have an upperclassmen happy to help me out. I chose to apply to be an advisor as soon as I was eligible, because I wanted to leave the same impact that I felt as a first year at UVA. ULink is a great resource that provides advisees with valuable information from older students, helpful in ensuring a smooth transition from high school. I love being a part of ULink and building connections with first years in the nursing school!”

This is Haleigh Hopper, the Curry school coordinator for ULink. She is a third year kinesiology student from Alexandria, VA. One of her favorite memories from college is watching UVA win the national championship in basketball last year and being on The Corner singing the Good Ole song!

“Coming into UVA as a first year without knowing anyone at a giant school, knowing that I had a ULink advisor who was there for any type of advice or support that I needed was a huge source of comfort. Because of how positively ULink impacted me as an advisee, I knew that I wanted to apply to be an advisor so that I could give first years the same great experience that I had. This ended up being one of the best decisions I have ever made - from chatting over coffee with my advisees to hanging out with my fellow advisors at ULink events, I have found such an amazing community! I encourage everyone to apply for this wonderful organization!”

"I joined ULink to connect first year students with older students who can provide them with information that only students know. My ULink advisor really helped me to find cool classes and clubs that I never knew existed (fun fact UVA has over 700 clubs ranging from dodgeball to high powered rocketry). I think that ULink provides incoming first years with a great resource that can help them smoothly transition into life at UVA!"
