Amongst fellow Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies graduates, faculty, staff and alumni, Norm Aquilo shared what it meant to complete his degree at University of Virginia after withdrawing from the College in 1988 due to a tough financial situation his family endured after an accident. "Returning to complete my education after many years required perseverance, discipline, and faith in the value of lifelong learning...Looking ahead, I believe this degree will allow me to continue serving students and my community more effectively while also expanding future career opportunities in education and related fields. Most importantly, I hope my experience demonstrates to others that it is never too late to return to school and complete an important lifelong goal."
