The UVA Tibet Center was founded in 2008. ཝིར་ཇི་ནིས་ཡ་གཙུག་ལག་སློབ་ཆེན་བོད་ཀྱི་ལྟེ་གནས་ནི་༢༠༠༨ ལོར་གསར་འཛུགས་བྱས་པ་ཞིག་ཡིན།

The Tibet Center brings together University faculty, students, staff, and alumni from a wide variety of disciplines and offers Tibet-related courses, cultural programs, speaker series, and community engagement. The Center also reaches beyond the University to connect scholars of Tibetan Studies around the world, advance collaborative research, relate the academy to people from across social sectors, and foster programs of direct benefit to modern-day Tibetans in specific local communities.

🇺🇸 UVA NC Fellows Program – FY23 U.S.-Based In-Person Program. Our NC Fellows had an enriching and inspiring day at the University of Virginia. The day began with an engaging workshop led by Dr. Lillard and her Ph.D. students Emily Daggett, where our fellows explored the principles and practices of Montessori education. Through interactive discussions and hands-on learning, they gained valuable insights into child-centered teaching methods and the impact of Montessori philosophy on early childhood development.

The fellows also enjoyed lunch together with Dr. Lillard and her team, providing a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss educational practices, and strengthen professional connections.

In the afternoon, the group visited the Early Education Lab, where they observed innovative teaching approaches, learned about current research in early childhood education, and experienced practical demonstrations of effective instructional methods.

To conclude the visit, Dr. Lillard graciously signed copies of her book (Montessori : The Science Behind the Genius) for our fellows, creating a memorable keepsake from an inspiring day of learning and collaboration.

From carving prints to crafting handmade journals, these experiences sparked creativity, encouraged collaboration, and reminded us that some of the best learning happens when we create with our own hands. 🇺🇸 UVA NC Fellows Program – FY23 U.S.-Based In-Person Program. Our NC Fellows had the opportunity to go behind the scenes and learn about the art, craftsmanship, and business of T-shirt printing. A heartfelt thank you to Don and Jesse from for going above and beyond to make this experience so meaningful.
They took the time to walk us through every step of the processfrom creating the design and preparing the screens to mixing inks, printing, and finishing each shirt. They also shared the story of how their business has grown over the years, giving our fellows valuable insight into the dedication, hard work, and entrepreneurship behind a successful local business.

Thank you again, Don and Jesse, for your warm hospitality and generosity. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge and passion with our fellows and for making this such a memorable learning experience.

🇺🇸 UVA NC Fellows Program – FY23 U.S.-Based In-Person Program. Our UVA NC Fellows had the opportunity to visit Monticello, the historic home of Thomas Jefferson, founder of the University of Virginia. The visit offered fellows a unique opportunity to learn more about Thomas Jefferson's vision for education, leadership, and public service while exploring one of the most iconic historic sites in the United States.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Brandon Dillard from for sharing the history and legacy of one of America's Founding Fathers, providing our fellows with valuable insights into Jefferson's life, family, and lasting impact.

🇺🇸 UVA NC Fellows Program – FY23 U.S.-Based In-Person Program! Our UVA NC Fellows had the opportunity to participate in engaging entrepreneurship sessions led by Professor David Touve. The session provided valuable insights into entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership, encouraging fellows to think creatively and explore new approaches to solving real-world challenges. 🇮🇳 UVA NC Fellows Program – Outbound Program in Dharamshala, India 🇮🇳. Our UVA NC Fellows concluded the Outbound Program in Dharamshala by conducting their final workshops, where they shared their knowledge, skills, and experiences with local participants.
The program concluded with a meaningful kora (circumambulation) around the sacred sites of McLeod Ganj, followed by visits to the Taj Mahal in Agra and the Red Fort in New Delhi. The fellows also had the opportunity to meet with U.S. Embassy officials and reflect on their experiences before completing their journey.
It has been an incredible experience filled with learning, leadership, entrepreneurship, cultural exchange, and lasting friendships. Congratulations to all of our fellows on successfully completing the Outbound Program, and thank you to everyone who made this journey possible!

🇺🇸 UVA NC Fellows Program – FY23 U.S.-Based In-Person Program | Trunk Shows. We were grateful to host two wonderful trunk shows during this year's program. Our trunk show continues to be a cherished tradition. A heartfelt thank you to the Mudhouse owners and staff for their ongoing hospitality and support.

🇮🇳 UVA NC Fellow Program’s Outbound Program in Dharamshala, India! Our fellows visited Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö Institute where our fellow Professor Nicole Willock shared her expertise through a lecture on engaging and teaching Buddhism and mindfulness to both Western audiences and younger generations. The session sparked thoughtful discussions on innovative approaches to Buddhist education and the importance of making traditional teachings meaningful and accessible to today's youth.
We are grateful to Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö Institute for hosting this enriching exchange of knowledge and ideas.

🇺🇸 UVA NC Fellows Program – The FY23 U.S.-Based In-Person Program. Our fellows had the opportunity to visit Polyface Farm, one of the most well-known farms in the United States. During the visit, participants gained firsthand insight into regenerative agriculture, ethical food production, and innovative farming practices.
The experience offered valuable lessons on business innovation and the importance of creating enterprises that balance profitability with social responsibility. Fellows engaged in meaningful discussions and explored how entrepreneurial thinking can be applied across industries to address real-world challenges. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Farm team, special thanks to for sharing her knowledge and experience. The visit was an inspiring learning opportunity for our fellows as they continue to develop their entrepreneurial leadership skills.
