Meet the Tri Delt of the Week: Kerry Underhill
Year: 3rd Year
Major: Media Studies
Tri Delta Officer Postion: Continuing Education Chairman
Fun Fact: "I have been levitated by a magician."
Kerry has had a key role in our chapter this year and also has had a huge impact on Grounds. Whether it's serving with a smile at The Virginian or helping incoming first years as an Orientation Leader, Kerry is an involved member of the UVa community and her positivity and massive laugh are contagious.
Kerry is extremely involved and passionate about one organization in particular, Camp Kesem:
"Camp Kesem is a week-long camp for kids with parents who either have or have had cancer that is completely free for the families thanks to our fundraising efforts throughout the year. I initially volunteered for Camp Kesem because I have had friends and family members suffer from cancer in the past and I wanted to make a difference in something I was truly passionate about. However when I first joined Kesem, I was completely unaware of how much of an impact the kids would have on me. After just one week of camp, I gained an entirely new perspective and I am now extremely thankful for all that I grew up with and appreciate everyday as a gift. Through “cabin chats”, camp songs, color wars and more, Kesem provides the support campers need to stay strong in their family’s battle against cancer and shows the kids that they are not alone in this fight. Because Camp Kesem is the only national organization that caters to this specific population of kids, the growth of our chapter is extremely important for the continued support and care for the children who need it most. I am both thankful and proud to be a part of such a unique and important organization."
Keep up the good work, Kerry!! You make us all SO proud!!
