UVA’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences enrolls approximately 2,000 students from 90 countries worldwide to pursue advanced degrees in over 30 disciplines under the direction of a distinguished faculty of creative scholars and innovative researchers. ciences and the physical and biomedical sciences, as well as joint degree programs with other schools at the University of Virginia. Prospective applicants should direct questions regarding a particular academic program to the Director of Graduate Studies [http://artsandsciences.virginia.edu/gradschool/contacts/dgs.html] for that program. Information regarding the application for admission is available through the Graduate School [http://artsandsciences.virginia.edu/gradschool/admissions/index.html]. All applicants admitted to doctoral programs are eligible for a standard aid package that includes five years of stipend support and payment of tuition, fees and student health insurance. Select applicants are nominated by their departments for enhanced graduate fellowships. Certain master’s programs also provide financial support to enrolled students. The Graduate School welcomes your interest in applying for admission and will facilitate the review of your credentials by the appropriate department or program. Admissions decisions are typically communicated from February through April. Acceptance of the offer of admission is due to the Graduate School by April 15.
