Across Tennessee, rural communities rely on dedicated physicians to provide accessible, high-quality care close to home. By training physicians in these communities, we're helping strengthen the rural health care workforce and build a healthier Tennessee.

Sarah Beth Albritton, MD, is a second-year resident in our rural track program at Erlanger-Bledsoe. 🌾
Hear why she chose to train in a rural community and serve the patients who call it home.

Safe driving starts the second you pick up the keys 🚘

We joined Lutzie 43 for their Safe Driving Summit at Signal Mountain High School showing students the dangers of driving distracted. With us was Dr. Anna Rogers, 3rd year surgical resident, Dr. Elijah Wyatt, clinical instructor for emergency medicine, Erlanger trauma, and more.

One decision behind the wheel can change a life in seconds.

"I kind of wanted more out of life. Adventure."

That instinct carried Emily McCulley, MD, from Memphis to medical school, and this spring, across the commencement stage at UT Health Sciences as a newly promoted U.S. Navy lieutenant. Her parents stood on either side of her, pinning her new insignia into place.

She wasn't alone on that stage. McCulley is one of eight graduates from the UTHSC College of Medicine and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry who earned military promotions this spring through the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP), commissioning into the Army, Navy and Air Force as they begin careers that serve both their patients and their country.
