Tiger Access students worked so hard to transform our campus into a beautiful setting for Plates with Purpose, a fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Area 4! ❤️

From planning and decorating to serving alongside local chefs and performing…our students helped make the evening special. We are so proud of their teamwork, dedication, and willingness to serve our community!

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and Tiger Access at Chattanooga State is celebrating our students and the places they work!

Our students are building skills, gaining experience, contributing to their workplaces, and showing what is possible when employers recognize talent and provide opportunities.

Employment is about more than a paycheck. It is about independence, belonging, purpose, and being a valued member of a team.

Join us in celebrating our working Tigers and the employers who give people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to shine!

Day two of State Fall Games brought more competition, friendship, and fun for Tiger Access students and mentors who are in ChattState’s Special Olympics College Club!

We started with a continental breakfast together before heading to Richard Siegel Park in Murfreesboro for co****le and flag football!

Between matches, we enjoyed snacks, visited the Healthy Athletes screenings, and squeezed in what college students do best…a nap!

What a great weekend of cheering each other on, making memories, and learning lessons about adulting along the way!

Tiger Access students and their mentors joined ChattState’s Special Olympics College Club at State Fall Games in Smyrna today!

They played hard, enjoyed eating together, and even squeezed in a little birthday celebration! They also enjoyed meeting fellow IPSE students from the UT Martin SAIL program and sharing some friendly competition!

They learned a few adulting lessons along the way…like checking the weather forecast and packing for cooler weather!

Now everyone is settled into the hotel for some well earned rest before they’re back at it in Murfreesboro for co****le in the morning!

It was a fantastic Friday full of competition, friendship, and real life learning!

The connections students build in college can have a lasting impact—helping create opportunities for friendship and community well beyond graduation! One year after graduation, 87% of students who completed a TPSID program reported being “happy” or “very happy” with their social life, 📊 as reported in our latest TPSID Annual Report. ChattState showed up BIG for the Special Olympics Area Flag Football Tournament at the Hixson Youth Athletic Association this morning!

It was wonderful to see so many parts of our ChattState community come together to support our Special Olympics athletes. The Symphonic Band brought the music and energy. Intramurals helped lead our skills events. An EMT instructor and several of her students served as our medical team. Three Tiger Access students took the field to play flag football, while another performed with the band!

This is what community looks like…students, faculty, and programs coming together, sharing their talents, and creating opportunities for everyone to belong, participate, and shine.
We’re proud of our Tigers!
