Father Edward Sorin founded Notre Dame with a simple but profound vision: that Notre Dame would be a force for good in the world.

Being a force for good doesn’t always require a grand gesture. Sometimes it’s found in the smallest moments—in how we speak to our family, how we support a friend, how we treat a coworker, or how we respond to a stranger who may simply need a little kindness.

Every interaction gives us an opportunity to leave someone a little better than we found them.

As we go through our days, may we continue to carry Father Sorin’s vision with us—to live with purpose, lead with kindness, serve others, and strive to be a force for good wherever life takes us.
☘️ Choose kindness. Live with purpose. Be a force for good. ☘️

ND Women Connect is THRILLED to announce our speaker for the Fall 2026 edition of our annual “Inspired Conversations” virtual speaker series — Anne Thompson!

Please save the date and plan to join ND Women Connect for “Inspired Conversations” on Tuesday, November 17, from 8–9 pm ET (5-6 pm PT) for an engaging conversation with ☘️Anne Thompson ’79☘️, NBC News Chief Environmental Affairs Correspondent and one of the most respected journalists covering climate, religion, and major events around the world. Thompson will reflect on her remarkable career, from reporting on the fall of the Twin Towers and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to the BP oil spill, climate change, and the last two papal conclaves—including the historic election of Pope Leo XIV.

Thompson will also share how a Notre Dame education shaped her approach to values-based journalism, and the role that faith, ethics, and a commitment to truth have played throughout her career. The conversation will be moderated by ☘️Kathleen Sprows Cummings ‘94 MA, ‘99 PhD☘️, John A. O’Brien Collegiate Professor of American Studies and History at the University of Notre Dame and a nationally-recognized scholar and media commentator on American Catholicism and the Catholic Church.

Don’t miss this thought-provoking conversation at the intersection of journalism, faith, career, and some of the defining stories of our time. The “Inspired Conversations” livestream will take place on the ThinkND platform; we will collect questions for Anne and Kathleen prior to and during the event.

Registration is open! Please register to join us for “Inspired Conversations” here: https://streamyard.com/watch/E6iAhFQAqksE.

Did you know nearly half of American families struggle with diaper need and no federal assistance program covers the cost? The Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank has been closing that gap since 2012, distributing more than 60,000 diapers every month through 60+ partner agencies from the Peninsula to the Southside.

That’s where we come in. Join us on Saturday, August 29 from 12–3 PM in Chesapeake as we wrap thousands of diapers headed to local families at the next monthly distribution. A few hours of your Saturday, a real difference for our neighbors. Register at https://seva.undclub.org/events/272104
