Wear Blue Day is observed every year in June on the Friday before Father's Day. It is a day to raise awareness, provide education, and let your brothers, fathers, dads, uncles, and male friends know how important their health is.
With this year's theme, “Healthy Habits, Healthier Men,” the focus is on how regular check-ups, physical activity, and open conversations can help men lead longer, healthier lives.

The Military Women's Memorial hosts a special event each year to mark the date, and it's a place where women veterans, service women, and supporters gather to recognize and celebrate their service.

The Finer Women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated- Beta Alpha Omicron Zeta Chapter with our Zeta Amicae, Zeta Youth and Zeta Male Network of Chesapeake, Go Orange Today For Gun Violence Awareness and For A Future Free of Gun Violence!

On Friday, June 6, 2025, and throughout the weekend of June 7-8, people across the United States are encouraged to wear orange as part of National Gun Violence Awareness Day and the Wear Orange campaign. This movement aims to raise awareness about gun violence, honor victims and survivors, and advocate for change to prevent future tragedies.

On January 21, 2013, Hadiya Pendleton marched in President Obama’s second inaugural parade. One week later, Hadiya was shot and killed on a playground in Chicago. Soon after this tragedy, Hadiya’s friends commemorated her life by wearing orange, the color hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others.

Wear Orange honors Hadiya and the 125 people shot and killed every day in the United States, along with the hundreds more who are wounded and the countless others whose lives have been changed by gun violence. Wear Orange with us to honor survivors and build community with those working to end gun violence.
