Congratulations to Widener University Jack & Nancy Dwyer School of Nursing inaugural Director of Nursing Leadership Academy!🎉

What if the most important investment leaders can make is in themselves?

Participants in Widener University inaugural Director of Nursing Leadership Academy spent 12 weeks honing skills not in compliance or staffing, but in emotional intelligence, resilience, and leadership. Along the way, they built meaningful connections with peers across the country.

As one participant put it: “My biggest takeaway is knowing that we are human, and as leaders we also have to take care of ourselves.”

We've been busy this summer! Did you catch us out in the community? We spent time at:

📍 Subaru Park
📍 Chester Senior Center

We have begun working community events already in collaboration with Dr. Renzi and Save your Soles and our students from the Nursing 480 Determinants of Health course.

🗓️The first event was on June 20th at the Subaru Park in support of Prostate Cancer awareness.
🗓️The second event was on Thursday, July 9th at the Chester Senior Center.
🗓️We look forward to working with Save your Soles again on Thursday, July 30th at the City of Chester Community Room for a Diabetic Luncheon.

Last week was the 2026 Widener Health Career Explorers Summer Program at Widener University.

Rising 9th graders and above explore health careers including nursing, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, physician assistant, and more.

They had the opportunity to meet fellow high school students, learn in our state-of-the-art simulation labs, and explore our beautiful campus.

We look forward to seeing participants become official members of the THE PRIDE in the future!
