Yesterday’s “Passing the Torch: Keeping the Dream Alive” MLK Day celebration kicked off with a march from Fountain Park to campus, followed by breakfast and program. Shown here is Washington College Women’s Basketball team taking part in the march!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 16) has been added as an official holiday for the College and offices will be closed.

This year’s “Passing the Torch: Keeping the Dream Alive” MLK Day celebration will be held on campus. The event kicks off with a march from Fountain Park to Washington College followed by breakfast and program in the Gibson Center for the Arts.

The event will feature the HHGES Bucket Band, Mt. Olive AME Praise Team, African drummers and dancers, presentation of the inaugural William Pickrum Service Award and more. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at linktr.ee/MDAInc
