Please join us in welcoming Lauren Denise Myers, MBA, to Cheyney University as our new Chief Human Resources and Compliance Officer!

Myers brings more than 30 years of global experience in human resources and talent management, with a career spanning Fortune 500 companies, startups, nonprofits, and professional sports and entertainment organizations.

Her work focuses on strengthening talent systems, guiding organizational change, and building inclusive workplace cultures where people thrive. With expertise in labor relations, executive recruiting, equitable hiring, and retention strategies, she combines strategic vision with genuine care for the people she serves.

A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Myers also holds an MBA in Human Resources Development from Capella University.

Cheyney University was proud to be represented at the street naming ceremony honoring Octavius V. Catto, an educator, civil rights advocate, and graduate of the Institute for Colored Youth, which later became Cheyney University.
Catto helped move a city forward. Today, we prepare generations to move the world forward.
Being there meant honoring someone whose story is part of our own. His courage, conviction, and pursuit of equality remind us what education can inspire and what one graduate can change.
