We are pleased to announce the publication of the Spring 2026 issue of Inquiry in Education (i.e.) journal.

This issue is dedicated to the special topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education and features scholarship exploring the opportunities, challenges, and implications of AI across K–12 and higher education settings. In addition to AI-focused research, the issue includes 12 articles and a book review addressing a broad range of topics in education, including teacher preparation, culturally responsive teaching, belonging, social justice pedagogy, bilingual education, and action research in both national and international contexts.

This issue features the editorial “Are We Up for an Adventure? Musings on AI and Beyond” by Dr. Antonina Lukenchuk.

Associate Professor Dr. Gloria McDaniel-Hall recently presented the keynote speech at Carthage College’s Celebration of Teachers 2026 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Dr. McDaniel-Hall shared an inspiring message with future educators about the importance of creating spaces of belonging and ensuring every student feels seen.

Dr. Nicholas Kryczka, Assistant Professor of Secondary Education for Social Studies, recently shared his expertise on civics education and civic engagement in polarized times through an opinion editorial in The Washington Post and an interview on WGN Radio.

Dr. Kryczka highlighted the importance of thoughtful, balanced civics education that helps students develop the skills to engage with complex issues and diverse perspectives.

Professor Seema Imam co-chaired the Islamic Schools League of America’s second Global Virtual Research Symposium. Dr. Imam delivered opening remarks, served as a session chair, and presented preliminary findings from her study, “Muslim Women in Institutional Leadership of Islamic Schools,” highlighting the experiences of women leaders in Islamic school communities. She also participated in the symposium’s closing panel, helping advance important conversations in Islamic education on a global stage.
