UIC Asian American Resource and Cultural Center - AARCC Fan page for the Asian American Resource and Cultural Center (AARCC) at the University of Illinois at Chicago. We are located at 723 W Maxwell.

The Asian American Resource and Cultural Center (AARCC) is one of the seven Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change and officially opened in spring of 2005 as a result of student efforts to ensure that UIC support the needs of Asian Americans. AARCC is dedicated to educating the general campus about this diverse community. The Center offers social, cultural, and educational programs t

hat promote knowledge of and foster engagement with issues relating to Asian Americans and Asian American studies. Our co-curricular programs enhance the UIC experience and provide opportunities for integrated learning and development. We collaborate and consult with other campus units to ensure that the needs of Asian American students are met. In line with the Great Cities Commitment, AARCC cultivates connections between UIC and Chicago's Asian American communities, serving as a resource for the campus to engage with off-campus Asian American organizations. AARCC is open to all members of the UIC campus and the surrounding community who have an interest in issues relevant to Asian Americans. AARCC is located at 723 W Maxwell. 📣 Register for the Global Asian Studies Seminar, which accompanies the Asian American Mentor Program (AAMP)!
*Note, classrooms have changed from poster.

This seminar introduces students to:
☀️ Exploring Asian American identity, culture, and issues
☀️ Campus resources
☀️ College life and study tips
☀️ Social connections in an AAMP small group and other new students

Sessions will be held at the following times at Stevenson Hall Room 103:

Here are some highlights from this past academic year:
AARCC had 1,619 unique visitors come to our space and had 2,503 visits

1,624 recorded attendees participated in 83 AARCC events and programs
Our AAMP program engaged 66 undergraduates and celebrated its 20th year
AARCC staff Julian Ignacio and Alyson Kung published a chapter in the book Shaking the Table: Survival and Healing Amongst Identity Center Practitioners

AARCC executive director Mark R. Martell celebrated his 25th year at UIC
