Join the Institute for the Humanities for a one-day symposium with invited scholars and members of the UIC community as we hold an interdisciplinary conversation about Fanon and his project of radical and revolutionary humanism in the context of twenty-first century authoritarian attacks on academic and human freedom. Pre-registration is requested. Registrants will receive a link to the readings a week prior to the program.
Join UIC faculty in conversation with Lewis Gordon (University of Connecticut), Barnor Hesse (Northwestern University), Yoalli Rodriguez Aguilera (DePaul University), Lara Sheehi (University of South Africa), Jane Ann Gordon (University of Connecticut), Ahmed Abozaid (University of Chicago), and Anwar Omeish (University of Chicago).
Co-sponsored by the UIC Institute for Research on Race & Public Policy (IRRPP), the Social Justice Initiative (SJI), Global Middle East Studies (GMES), and Departments of Sociology, French, English, History, Black Studies, and Criminology, Law & Justice.
